Multivariable Calculus by James Stewart, Seventh Edition (Sixth Edition is OK). The 7-th Edition is preferred because it has slightly more problems and it has one more section, Section 15.6 on Surface Area, that is not in the 6-th Edition. If you have the 6-th Edition, you need to take careful lecture notes on Section 15.6 and find a friend with the 7-th edition to make sure you can do all the homework problems listed in Section 15.6.
We will cover Chapters 12 - 16 (7-th Edition) and 13 - 17 (6-th Edition), with some material deleted.

Remark: If a student gets a 70/100 or more on at least one of the 3 midterms, a 70/100 or more on the final exam, and attends at least 75% of the classes, the student will receive no lower than a D grade in the class. (This policy is meant to help students who bombed up to 2 midterms because of reasons beyond their control.)
Any cases of cheating will be subject to investigation by the Academic Honesty Committee of Harpur College.
Class attendance is HIGHLY recommended. The material is a combination of theory and calculation, and it is necessary to understand some theory in order to do sensible calculations and interpret them correctly. Questions are welcome at ANYTIME.
If you have difficulties, don't wait until the last minute. Make use of office hours, email, telephone, the Calculus helproom, and your own classmates.
